Analysing and responding to requirements
Analysis requires a good understanding of all the business needs and this can take time to properly capture these from the many different parts of a blarge and complex organisation. It is vital that the techncial and business requirements are clear to companies.
It is equally important for potential suppliers to understand what they are being asked for and to respond appropriately.
A common language is essential and ITIL v3 can provide this.
You need to know the network you have been provided meets all the key specifications.
You also need to measure the baseline capabilties so that as and when things change as they surely will you know when you need to change the network.
As your business evolves to succeed the demands on the network will change - they almost always do - you need to keep an eye on how the network is delivering against SLA and expectations. Perhaps the supplier has some new capabilities - unless you hold regular reviews this may not be known about.
